Fall Recreation Classes, Avoid Holmes Run, Assist City Council: This Week's Latest ACTion

  • Check out this video showcasing the many fall recreation programs sponsored by the City.   Classes include yoga, dance and martial arts.  Youth, adults and senior citizens are welcome to participate!  
  • City officials ask that Alexandria residents avoid Holmes Run "downstream of the Ripley Street fair weather crossing."  Two damaged sewer lines have been discovered in that area.  Repairs on broken pipes will take 3 to 6 weeks. 
  • On Saturday, October 15th, residents are welcome to attend the City Council's hearing to comment on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program, which begins July 1st, 2012.  Alexandrians are "encouraged" to express their opinions on ways that the City can meet community needs with limited finances.  For more information, read this official release.
