Congratulations Green Idea Challenge Winners!
From April-May, ACTion asked you for your best ideas for making Alexandria an even greener, more sustainable place to live. You rose to the challenge and submitted 17 amazing ideas. Thank you for your creativity and innovation!

After taking into account a number of factors, including community need, budget, timeline, focus and community supports, the judging panel has selected the following ideas as winners of the 2014 Green Ideas Challenge.
Congratulations to:
Kevin B. for your idea to plant trees in Four Mile Run Park
Debbi K. for your idea to put in recycling bins in athletic fields used for youth sporting events
Margaret W. for your idea for arts and nature classes in Huntley Meadows Park
Ana H. for your idea for planting wetland gardens in elementary schools
Thanks to the generosity of the Dominion Foundation, ACTion is awarding $5000 total to fund these four green ideas.
Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you again to everyone who participated!

Thanks so much Kerrin and ACTion Alexandria for your support of the Art&Nature; series at Huntley Meadows Park; it wouldn't happen without our community partners:)
