Senior Services of Alexandria is partnering with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria on a new program called “Animeals on Wheels” pet food delivery to senior pet owners in the City of Alexandria. 

Help rescue donated food using bicycles and cargo trailers! Food will be biked to the Annie B. Rose Senior Home. Click here for more information. 

Sadly, Spring2ACTion is officially over. But today, we get to celebrate the results and the amazing generousity of our community. With your help, we raised $659,591 from 5,872 givers in just 24 hours! Thank you, thank you, thank you! None of this would be possible without YOU!  

It's puppy and kitten season and the doors of the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter are open to the unplanned and unwanted litters. You can help our puppies and kittens start life on the right paw by coming to the AWLA Baby Shower with a gift from our Foster Care Wish List.

This Saturday Dec. 8th from 10am to 3pm Wheels to Africa (WTA) wheels-to-africa.org is having its annual bike collection again at TC Williams High School. WTA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that collects bikes for African and needy American Communities. WTA was started by Arlington resident Winston Duncan when he was 11 years old.

The MV Big Flea will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2025 at the Mount Vernon Community Center, 2701 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305.

Our volunteers pick up donations by appointment, or you can drop them off during one of our “Shop N Drop “ dates through the year. Yes, we sell stuff then, too!

Computer C.O.R.E. needs your old hardware, ASAP! As part of the program, Computer C.O.R.E. students are given a desktop to take home and keep.

Help Out With Toy Distribution for the CPC!

Saturday, December 17th, from 7:30AM until 4:00PM the Community Partner's for Children Toy Drive needs your helping hands. The Winter Wonderland will be at the Mt. Vernon Rec Center, located at 2701 Commonwealth Avenue. You're already contributing so much to the life of a child this holiday, but we still need volunteers to make sure the Winter Wonderland pick-up goes smoothly.

Thanks to the amazing response, we met our $1,000 goal on the first day. So we've doubled our goal to $2,000.

Rose, 64, is up early in the morning to see her three grandchildren Tammy (6), Davis (4), and Mike (2) off to school.

This Thursday, we hope everyone will come out for the final First Thursday of the season - Home Sweet Home.  While there are lots of great things planned including a fun scavenger hunt with prizes & great music from the Kate Moran Band, we would like to ask for everyone's support in helping our featured non-profit. 

With the theme Home Sweet Home, what better non-profit to recognize for all their hard work then Rebuilding Together Alexandria.
