Art on the Avenue is a multicultural arts and music festival that features more than 350 area artists and craftspeople selling their original works. The Alexandria Bicycle Advisory Committee is having another (free) bicycle ride on Saturday, December 17th. It wil be limited to the first 30 riders and will cover about 4-5 miles. They'll be meeting at St. Elmo's in Del Ray and bicycling through out the Del Ray area. Just bring yourself and your bike.

Stop by the Book Fair at the Potomac Yard Barnes&Noble and help Mount Vernon School's PTA raise some money. If you mention the school while you're checking out, a portion of the sales price will go directly to the PTA. Parents and volunteers will be on board to gift wrap any presents you purchase.

Cora Kelly is trying something new this year -- a Fall Book Fair instead of gift-wrap sales or popcorn. The total book sales mean more books for the school library after the Fair is over. Come join Max the Cat at Eclectic Nature this Saturday, October 22nd for a Fall Festival from 3:00PM until 6:00PM. It'll be a fun day for the whole family. Last year, we had over 200 donations that allowed children to march in the Halloween Parade. The parade is a Del Ray tradtion that attracts thousands-- yes, thousands-- of Alexandria residents every year.

Del Ray Performing Arts Center has announced that they will be doing Shakespeare's Time Traveling Players Boot Camp this summer. Join them June 26-July 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp is available for grades 6 through 9.

Del Ray's First Thursday event on May 5th collected five large containers of children's books for the Arlandria Pediatric Health Clinic's Reach Out and Read program! Sponsored by the Del Ray Business Association,First Thursday collect goods or donations for Alexandria nonprofits at each event.
