Vote for Your Favorite Quality of Life Indicators
We are really excited to use our new challenge functionality to give Alexandria residents the opportunity to help prioritize a new set of Quality of Life indicators. We've jerry-rigged things a bit by adding the indicators as "solutions, but don't let that throw you. All you need to do is browse through the indicators and vote for those you feel are most important.
What are Quality of Life Indicators?
The Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria is collaborating with ACT for Alexandria and Virginia Tech to develop a better way to inform key decisions in Alexandria – through “quality of life indicators.” Quality of life indicators are the answers to the question, “What matters most to the people who live in Alexandria?” The indicators will serve as reminders and rallying points around which community minded individuals and groups can focus their efforts to make a measurable difference. It includes key quality of life issues like recreation, food, housing, caring for one another, transportation, environment, and employment.
How do I vote?
To vote for the indicators you think are most important in this category, you must first register on ACTion Alexandria. Each indicator is listed as a "Solution" below. You have a total of 10 votes to assign in each indicator category. You can assign your 10 votes to as many or as few indicators in each category as you like. Simple click on the "Add Your Vote" link under each solution to assign your vote.
What will you do with my responses?
Your votes will be collected and combined with feedback from two Speak Up! Take ACTion! townhall meetings and summarized on ACTion Alexandria by the sponsoring organizations on April 18th. The newly prioritized indicators will serve as reminders and rallying points around which community minded individuals and groups can focus their efforts to make a measurable difference.
Quality of Life Indicators will be collected on an annual or biennial basis to better judge how Alexandria is doing over a period of years, rather than just one given year. The indicators included among the Quality of Life Indicators will provide the basis for the Community Health Assessment of MAPP.
