About

United Way of the National Capital Area improves our community by focusing on three key elements for a good quality of life.

  • EDUCATION:

United Way of the National Capital Area views education – from prenatal through work and life readiness – as one of three critical areas for our region to address. The Education Initiative will comprise five core areas of focus, covering the full continuum of education and child development.

  1.    1. All children are ready for kindergarten;
  2.    2. All children read proficiently by grade 4;
  3.    3. All students have a successful transition in and out of middle school;
  4.    4. All students graduate high school on time; and
  5.    5. All students are ready for success in college and work.

  • FINANCIAL STABILITY:

United Way NCA works to increase the number of individuals and families who are financial stable by focusing on three key areas:

  1. 1.    Affordable Housing
  2.  2.    Income Supports
  3. 3.    Services for Vulnerable Residents
