Christ Church of Alexandria

The Christ Church mission is to embody God’s unbounded love by embracing, liberating, and empowering people, whoever they are, and wherever they find themselves on their journeys of faith.

The Lazarus Ministry helps promote self-sufficiency and independence by helping low income individuals access and maintain housing, and employment. The ministry also aids individuals in crisis by providing food, medical supplies, utilities, rent money, transportation money, and clothing. The Lazarus Ministry provides assistance to those in the City of Alexandria by providing food, clothing, financial, material, spiritual assistance, and counseling. This is done by one-to-one counseling with guests who come to the Church seeking help with their bills, lodging, medical needs, transportation, job search, food or clothing for themselves or their families. Lazarus counselors work to build relationships with our neighbors in need through Christian hospitality, which may include listening, prayer, material assistance, and referrals.
