Alexandria Police Foundation

The mission of the Alexandria Police Foundation (APF), a nonprofit charitable organization initially founded to provide health insurance for retiring police dogs, has evolved to also assist the Alexandria Police Department by providing resources that improve officer performance, morale and effectiveness in their efforts to safeguard our community. The APF works with the Alexandria Police Department leadership, with the endorsement of the Alexandria City government, to seek resources and grants to support police initiatives.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Alexandria Police Foundation assists police officers by providing resources that improve officer performance, morale and effectiveness in their efforts to safeguard our community. In March 2015, the foundation dedicated the Alexandria Police Fallen Officers Memorial. This memorial was built to remember the 18 fallen officers in Alexandria's history and honor the service of the Alexandria officers to the community. This project was by far our biggest fundraiser effort. As we go forward, the Police Foundation is now tasked with focusing on Community Oriented Policing (COPS). We are working with the COPS Unit in their effort to promote a partnership between the police department and the community, especially the youth and 'at-risk' groups. The Alexandria Police Foundation is fully funded by private donors. Help us support those who serve and protect. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
