SCAN’s first ever Croquet Day is almost here! On May 18th from 12:00 - 5:00 PM at the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, teams will gather for some friendly competition and to enjoy a variety of games, food and drinks. If you haven’t registered your team yet, now’s the time! No worries if you haven’t played since you were a kid – no experience is required!

How does a Croquet Tournament work?

Each team will play two short rounds, culminating in a winner-take-all showdown! Between your play times, there will be food and drinks to enjoy, plus a variety of games and activities for kids of all ages. You don’t want to miss the real-life Angry Birds game or any of the other lawn games!

What are the prizes?

In addition to the tournament prizes, there will be prizes for the Most Festive (Creative) Dressed, Best Team Name and Most Team Spirit, so use your imagination!

SCAN's Croquet Day will be a fun, casual, community-building and family friendly croquet tournament and fundraiser for our child abuse and neglect prevention programs. The Tournament will be played on 6-8 concurrent fields at the Virginia Theological Seminary, around which food and activities will be organized for team members, families and spectators. Each team of 2-4 members will play two 20-minute games. They will know in advance what their “tee” times will be on the day of the event. Scoring will be done by Bob Kroeger, a croquet champion and professional tournament director with 28 years of experience. Games will be 20 minutes. The 4 teams with the highest scores after their two games will compete in the final showdown rounds to determine the overall winner.

Celebrity Judges

We're thrilled to announce that a number of Celebrity Judges have signed on to join us at the event. Stay tuned for more judges to be announced this spring!
