Come join Max the Cat at Eclectic Nature this Saturday, October 22nd for a Fall Festival from 3:00PM until 6:00PM. It'll be a fun day for the whole family. Not only will there be live music, free hot dogs, carnival games and Halloween candy to be won but there will also be a planting workshop and the continuation of the Fall Plant Sale.

Last week, I attended an Alexandria Environmental Policy Commission meeting to pitch a green ideas challenge on ACTion Alexandria for Alexandria's Eco-City initiative in the near future. It would be easy for ACTion Alexandria to collect your ideas for how to turn Alexandria into a greener, more sustainable city on the Challenge section of our site and similar ideas challenges have already begun in New York City, and Washington D.C.. I don't know about you, but this week's earthquake brought a new level of significance to our Healthy Families Alexandria Home Safety Kit action. There is nothing more important than making your home as safe as possible for your family.
