The Alexandria Film Festival (AFF; is teaming with the Alexandria Library and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to host its 2012 program.  The sixth annual event, offering more than forty feature length and short films in every genre, will be held November 16-18.  Filmmakers from as far away as Australia and as near as Alexandria will be represented and many will be on hand in person to take questions from the audience.

According to Patti North, chair of the volunteer organizing committee, the festival’s mission is to establish Alexandria as a venue for creating, exhibiting and experiencing film by reaching out to local, national and international filmmakers as well as promoting awareness about the cultural and educational value of cinema among Alexandria’s diverse audiences.  “Alexandria is a premier arts destination,” she said, “and the AFF is proud to be at the forefront of bringing the best in film and media art from around the world to the city."
