  • Today marks the start of a Christmas tree sale to support the Alexandria Police Youth Camp.  All proceeds from the sale, which takes place Monday through Friday 5 PM to 8 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 8 PM, help to ensure that each child in Alexandria has the opportunity to attend a summer camp.  So purchase your tree at Union Station on Callahan Drive and contribute to a great cause!
  • The City's Domestic Violence Program is in the process of organizing its annual holiday party, specifically for the women and children who've recently sought the assistance of the shelter.  Toys and gift cards are needed! You can help by dropping off a toy or gift card at 421 King Street, no later than 5 PM on December 13th.  For more information, call (703) 746-4911.
  • Are you looking to stay active during the winter? The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities has just released its new program guide.  Check it out by visiting the Department's homepage.  All events listed take place starting in January of next year and run until March.  So have fun and enjoy the Holiday Season!
