Gearing Up for School: Alexandria School Supply Drive

From rulers to spiral notebooks to backpacks and new clothes, it takes a lot to equip kids for school. With the Virginia Tax Holiday on school supplies from August 1 to August 3, it's an opportune time to not only pick up supplies for your family but also to grab some extra pencils and crayons for students whose families are unable to afford the long list of needed items for the upcoming school year.  

If you would like to help local families gear up for school, Alexandria City Public Schools' Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE) is accepting donations from now until Sunday, August 24. Donated supplies can be dropped off at one of more than 50 locations across Alexandria. A few of the needed supplies include backpacks, spiral notebooks, 2-pocket folders, erasers and markers.The link to the complete lists of drop off locations and needed supplies can be found below.
