Fighting Bullying, Martin Luther King, Jr Day, Green Workshops, and More: This Week's Latest ACTion
- Virginia State Dels. Adam Ebbin and David Englin have introduced anti-bullying bills that would make bullying in school a crime, and give schools more tools to protect victims of bullying. According to Ebbin, "No student in Virginia should be afraid to attend school." However, opponents argue that bullying is a matter that should be handled by parents or school administrators. - On Saturday February 5th, the first of six workshops focusing on how Alexandria's citizens can make the City even more eco-friendly, will be held at City Hall. - This Saturday, the City of Alexandria hosts the 38th Annual Citywide Tribute to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The tribute will begin at 7:30 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church. - Are you a Civil War buff? Alexandria will host a number of events this year to commemorate the the 150th anniversary.
