Give Some Wheels to Africa!

This Saturday Dec. 8th from 10am to 3pm Wheels to Africa (WTA) wheels-to-africa.org is having its annual bike collection again at TC Williams High School. WTA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that collects bikes for African and needy American Communities. WTA was started by Arlington resident Winston Duncan when he was 11 years old.

First Planetarium Show Salutes Manned Space Exploration

One night a month during the school year, families and community members are invited to an hour-long presentation at the T.C. Williams Planetarium. In addition to the salute to manned space exploration, the event will feature a highly interactive and kid-friendly activity and a “Walk Across the September Sky”.

Each month the Planetarium at TC Williams is opened to families and students to learn more about our skies. This educational and exciting experience is led by Bob Nicholson. For the month of January, the program will be about the tragic losses of the Space Shuttle Challenger and Apollo 1.

Buy a Pizza = Money Raised for TC Williams Crew

A week from today, November 15th, Homemade Pizza on Mt. Vernon Avenue will be sponsoring a fundraiser for the Alexandria Crew Boosters. The Alexandria Crew Boosters have been helping maintain the Varsity Crew at TC Williams since 1951. The members include past and present TC parents, crew alumni, Alexandria teachers and Alexandria Community Rowing Club members.
