Native Oak and Fern Planting at Chinquapin Park

This Saturday will mark the final work day event of the year at Chinquapin Park. The park needs your help. Volunteers are welcome to come take part in the ecological restoration along sections of the park's main trail and entrance. There will be small, medium and large size planting that needs to be completed as well as the restoration of several species of Upland Oaks. Read more »

Since 1991, this organization has been dedicated to Alexandria's children of need. Throughout the year it focuses on two main projects. The organization has a close working relationship with the Alexandria Department of Human Services, public school social workers, as well as various community service organizations. This allows it to provide assistance to those most vulnerable in our community: our children.

Women, Art & Shopping Holiday Show

This will be the 14th Annual Women Artists Show, and it will be just in time for the Holidays. On December 4th, join artists of the Alexandria area for fun, art and wine. You will be able to find perfect gifts for yourself and others. Come out and support local female artists. Proceeds will go to the Alexandria Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Programs.
