Rebuilding Together strives to achieve greater City well-being by bringing volunteers and resources together to revitalize communities and improve the homes and lives of those in need.

About

Since 1986, 23,000 volunteers have worked on 1,800+ projects, leveraging $6.9 million worth of in-kind value throughout Alexandria. Each year, we strengthen the lives of 200+ low-income homeowners by providing free, safe and healthy repairs to the elderly, disabled, veterans, and families with children. Our goal is that by keeping these residents in improved health and housing conditions, they remain active members of their local neighborhood, helping the City of Alexandria remain economically, socially and culturally diverse.

What Is Rebuilding Together Alexandria?

Rebuilding Together Alexandria brings volunteers, communities, and resources together to improve the homes and lives of Alexandrians in need. Their vision for Alexandria is a vibrant community where people of all income groups and cultures live in safe and healthy homes. Their goal is to impact the overall quality of life for residents in the City of Alexandria in many ways including maintaining affordable housing, revitalizing communities, and stabilizing low- and moderate-income areas by eliminating blight in many neighborhoods. They are dedicated to repairing and rehabilitating homes free of cost for those in need, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, military veterans, and families with children.
