Volunteers Needed for Alexandria Domestic Violence Program
End Date:
Tue, 01/01/2013
Volunteer for the Alexandria Domestic Violence Program today. Act Now to start Helping Today.
The Alexandria Domestic Violence Program needs volunteers like you to stay operating.
It is a 24/7 program, which means you really DO play a vital role in its sucess and to those who are affected by domestic violence.
- Volunteers are needed to provide counseling to residents of the Battered Women's Shelter and to callers on the 24-hour hotline. Also, volunteers will be planning out activities and entertaining the kids while their mothers are in support groups.
- The training to become a volunteer is 40 hours-- yes, that does seem intense. However, the program only needs you to commit 12 volunteer hours per month after you've trained.
- The next volunteer training starts on January 9th, 2012!
Contact Jen Clayton at 703.746.4911, or email Jen.Clayton@alexandriava.gov if you'd like to learn more and sign up to become a volunteer today.
