Virginia has not made a final decision regarding expanding Medicaid coverage to newly eligible groups. Medicaid expansion would include non-elderly adults with incomes up to 133% of the Federal Poverty Line. The Federal government will pay for 100% of the cost of certain newly eligible adult Medicaid beneficiaries through 2016 and then 90% of the costs by 2020.
