Help Build New KaBOOM! Playground in Old Town
Help build a playground in Old Town!
100 volunteers are needed on September 13 to provide hundreds of children in the Alexandria community with a safe place to play!
In partnership with ARHA, KaBOOM! and the Washington Capitals, we're building a new $75,000 playground in Old Town's Hopkins-Tancil Court neighborhood on September 13, 2012.
The new playground will provide hundreds of children in the Alexandria community with a safe place to play. Currently, the existing equipment at S.T.A.R.S. Playground is out-dated and in need of replacement. With your help, the new S.T.A.R.S Playground will be a place where local children will be able to play in a safe, accessible, and, most importantly, FUN environment.
To complete the playgound, 100 volunteers are needed to dig in and give underserved kids a chance to play well!

Funds for the playground were raised through So Kids Can during the 2011-12 season. Capitals defenseman Mike Green and Elliot Segal of the Elliot in the Morning show created the So Kids Can program in 2008 to benefit youth-focused, nonprofit organizations.
