Alexandria Association

The first year the association began, it tended to deal with issues such as water rates and quality, regulations, lectures on historical sections and homes of the city, development of the waterfront and matters of that nature. The association today is organizaed "exclusively for educational purposes" and has around 600 members.

Alexandria Citizens Band

The Alexandria Citizens Band is a community organization comprising volunteer members who bring musical entertainment to the City of Alexandria and the DC Metro area. The band was organized in 1912 and is directed by Jack Dusek. During the Summer, the band plays for the Friday concert series at Market Square in Old Town Alexandria as well at Fort Ward Park.
