What is ACTion Alexandria?
ACT for Alexandria, Alexandria’s community foundation, and the City of Alexandria have partnered to create an innovative new online civic engagement initiative called ACTion Alexandria; a web-based platform that will bring together neighbors and local nonprofit organizations to exchange ideas, coordinate efforts, and solve problems in our community.
Why become a sponsor on ACTion Alexandria?
ACTion Alexandria’s mission is to promote grassroots citizen philanthropy and engagement in order to improve our community. As a sponsor of ACTion Alexandria, you provide essential support for local nonprofit organizations addressing the needs of Alexandrians. ACTion Alexandria will work with you to find the best way for your sponsorship to benefit the organization or population you are interested in helping (children, women, homeless, education, etc.).
By sponsoring a weekly Featured Action, your organization will be making an investment in the future of the City of Alexandria and supporting valuable work in the community.
Featured Actions
Each week, ACTion Alexandria features a new action that will target the need of a local nonprofit organization in the form of donations of goods, services, and/or funds. If you sponsor an organization’s Featured Action in the form of matching grants or donations of goods, services, and/or funds:
- Your organization logo and information will be prominently displayed on the Featured Action page, which is featured on the site’s homepage, for the duration of the action.
- Your organization will be featured in blog posts and social media updates promoting the action throughout the week.
- Your organization will be noticed for making a positive contribution to the City of Alexandria.
