Bring your little ones to the Four Mile Run Farmers & Artisans Market in Four Mile Run Park this Sunday for a fun, musical way to learn!

The Uncle Devin Show is a live, participatory musical experience for children by world renowned drummer and author, Devin Walker. He uses the drum, both traditional and electronic, to convey universal principles of love to children and to inspire young people into pursuing the artist within themselves. This interactive show seeks to connect with children through the drum and the art of storytelling that will lead toward their personal, cultural and social development.

$15,000 in Spruce Up Grants are up for grabs.

Project Play officially launched on November 17th. Since, we have received a total of 11 playspaces for Ideas! While this is a great start, we would love to see more playgrounds submitted as an Idea for a Spruce Up Grant.

Neighborhood businesses, churches, community centers and libraries have a drop-off spot just waiting for you to bring supplies for students from lower-income families.

The City of Alexandria will hold its second annual Youth Arts Festival from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Jefferson-Houston  School, 1501 Cameron St. This free, fun- filled, culturally enriching festival features live performances, a puppet theatre, fine art displays, interactive workshops, poetry readings and opportunities for youth to sell their art.
