members have been collaborating to build Alexandria's Principles of Engagement since November. We'll be discussing the Principles and a new framework for implementation and we need your feedback and ideas.

More than 200 volunteers from Alexandria and surrounding communities will arrive at the site you see on the left and work together to build an amazing new playspace for Alexandria families and their children.
On Wednesday, May 2nd, our community will come together for 24 hours of unprecedented giving.
Spring2ACTion is one extraordinary day to support the organizations that make Alexandria amazing. ACT and ACTion Alexandria, in partnership with our sponsors, are offering up to $30,000 in cash and prizes to help increase fundraising efforts by participating organizations and individual fundraisers. Eco-City Alexandria, Alexandria Environmental Policy Commission, and ACTion Alexandria have teamed up to launch the Alexandria Green Ideas Challenge. We asked Alexandria citizens to share their ideas for creating a greener, more sustainable community.
All the ideas have been submitted and now it's time to vote for the winners!

When Jeremy, a bilingual 4-year old from Alexandria’s Arlandria neighborhood, enrolled at The Child and Family Network Centers (CFNC) he knew few, if any, letters of the alphabet; but by the end of the school year he knew them all and used them to write his name along with a dated plan for what he wanted to do each day.
Jane Hess Collins of Get Out and Give Back has started a new program. She is going out and engaging in at least one community service project a week. After she completes her project, she posts about it on Facebook, Twitter and her own website. By doing this, she is giving the nonprofit publicity and she shows the great work they are doing in the community.
