Organizations

We're an organization chartered in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1940, currently comprised of about 100 adults aged 21 to 40. We are a chapter of the Virginia Jaycees and part of the U.S. Junior Chamber, and are sometimes called the "junior chamber of commerce".

Our mission is to provide a foundation for future learning success by helping ensure that first and second graders in the Alexandria City Public Schools can read at or above grade level by the end of second grade.

Since 1946, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria has been a resource for our community and a shelter for homeless animals. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, education and community service and outreach, the League plays a key role in promoting responsible pet care across Northern Virginia.

Bethany House of Northern Virginia, Inc. was organized to help homeless women and their children who have suffered from domestic violence regain health and dignity and become reestablished in their community by providing temporary housing and support.
