Casa Chirilagua

Mission
Developing relationships with families to see the Chirilagua neighborhood transformed by Christ
About
Casa Chirilagua is a group of people who are “learning together to love their neighbors as themselves” located in Chirilagua, a Latino neighborhood in North Alexandria, Virginig (also called Arlandria). We are a Christian, faith-based non-profit outreach that seeks to develop relationships with families to see the Chirilagua neighborhood transformed. Our programs are ways to engage with families and meet needs. Kids Club is our after-school program (grades 1st-5th) that provides Christ-centered Bible lessons, character development lessons, a nutritious snack, reading development, homework help, ACPS-Casa Chirilagua joint Guided Reading, music and movement-based tutoring sessions, monthly field trips, and access to in-home mentoring relationships. Teens Club is our new middle school program based a George Washington Middle School, tutoring 6-7th grade students. Our hope is to add a grade every year. With each additional grade, we hope to eventually walk alongside a child from 1st grade until they graduate from high school, equipping them with what they need to be strong leaders who love their neighbors as themselves and have the skills, education and ability to return and serve their community in love.
