If you’re like me, you’re getting older. If you’re not like me, you’re still getting older. At Senior Services of Alexandria‘s upcoming Senior Law Day, local experts will explain aging-related legal issues – from the ins-and-outs of estate planning to evaluating options for long-term care, and exploring how you can pay for it.

It’s true – we’re all getting older. The alternative is not pretty. And don’t be thinking this applies only to folks who are 60 on up. I’m 48, and my parents are 80 and 85. The event is open to the public, older and younger alike.

The 3-hour free forum is being produced in partnership with the Alexandria Bar Association. You’ll learn what steps to take to prepare for retirement, and to organize your legal affairs – or to help an older relative organize theirs.

And the experts there will also let you know about local resources that you can tap into. Want more info? Contact Senior Services of Alexandria Executive Director Janet Barnett at (703) 836-4414, ext. 11 or ExecutiveDirector@SeniorServicesAlex.org or Development Director Lydia Durand at (703) 836-4414, ext. 14 or Development@SeniorServicesAlex.org

In all seriousness, it's kind of classic. If you currently could really benefit from this information, head on over. But if you can't think of how this would be relevant to you in the short-term, you know what? Now's when it will benefit you most.
