Event Date

Event Location
Chet & Sabra Avery Conference Room, located in City Hall Room 2000, 301 King St

The public is invited to attend a community open house to discuss the design of a short term safety fence around the Windmill Hill Park Bulkhead, 501 S. Union St. In response to community comments, staff will present five (5) design options.

City staff will present information and receive public comment on the design options for a short term safety fence pending future removal and replacement of the current concrete bulkhead. The existing bulkhead is severely deteriorated and imminent failure of the structure is possible.

Individuals may view design options at www.alexandriava.gov/recreation and forward comments by Wednesday, August 22.  Safety fence design options and public comment will be presented to the Board of Architectural Review (BAR) at a Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 5, 7:30 p.m., City Council Chambers, City Hall, 301 King St.
