Celebrate National Night Out in Alexandria

Residents in more than 27 Alexandria neighborhoods will turn on their porch lights, host neighborhood cookouts and sponsor block parties in support of National Night Out.
From 5 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, city officials will partner with Alexandria Police to celebrate the 28th Annual National Night Out, a special celebration that’s part of a nationwide crime and drug prevention effort sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).

Come help kick off inauguration weekend with a celebration to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and volunteer! On Saturday, January 19th, hundreds of volunteers will assist nonprofit agencies providing services to people in need as well as provide educational activities to children and youth. In Alexandria, volunteers are needed to assist children and teenagers creating a story book. Volunteers are needed for set up, registration, implementing arts and crafts projects, clean up, and much more.
