CANCELED: Alexandria NAACP welcomes more than just passengers en route to MLK rally

CANCELED EVENT: Braddock Road Metro -- 11:15am. Pre-march rally -- 12:00pm in DC at Constitution Ave NW & 17th St NW. At 1:30pm, kick off official march to Martin Luther King Jr. memorial site at Ohio Dr SW & West Basin Dr SW in DC.

CANCELED EVENT DUE TO HURRICAN IRENE COMING: This Saturday, the Alexandria NAACP will be among the hundreds of thousands expected to attend the Martin Luther King Jr. Rally and March for jobs. Would you like to serve witness and partake in the historic dedication of the memorial?

The organization is inviting folks to gather at the Braddock Road Station at 11:15am. They'll then head to DC for the pre-march rally, which will start at 12:00pm at Constitution Avenue NW and 17th Street NW. After the rally, the official march will kick off at 1:30 pm, proceeding toward the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial site, located at Ohio Drive SW and West Basin Drive SW in DC.
