Your Weekend Guide!

Fall is gearing up and there are tons of fun events happening on the weekends! Here are some of the highlights for this weekend:

Saturday, 9/14

  • The DiverseCity Alexandria Multicultural Fest will be held in Four Mile Run Park in The Plaza. Celebrate the diversity of your city with food, live music, and dance! 
  • The Alexandria Jaycees are hosting their annual series of yard sales starting on Saturday, 9/14. The yard sale will be held in the the parking lot of Anthony Lance Elementary School and will run from 7:00am-1:30pm. 
  • The Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will lead an informal community bike ride around Alexandria exploring the east and west ends of the city. The bike ride will start at 10:00 am at VeloCity Co-op, 2111 Mount Vernon Avenue. 
  • Studio 4 will present the opening of The Neuro-Diversity Project from 4:00-7:00pm. The Neuro-Diversity Project gives children on the autism spectrum the opportunity to work one on one with an artist to create artwork which is displayed in Studio 4. 

Sunday, 9/15

  • the Anthenaeum presents Dance in Gallery: In Resonance, a free dance performance starting at 2:00pm. 
  • the Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra will perform a benefit concert for Stop Hunger Now! in the Old Presbyterian Meeting House at 323 South Fairfax Street starting at 4:00pm. 
  • The O Street Band, an eclectic sound of guitar, keyboards, flute, and vocals, will perform from 10:00am-12:00pm at Mt. Vernon Ave at Four Mile Run
