This week's featured organization is...Legal Services of Northern Virginia

Legal Services of Northern Virginia (LSNV) is a nonprofit public interest law firm that provides free legal assistance to low-income residents. By providing free, high-quality legal services LSNV is able to assist elderly, disabled, or low income individuals with some of life’s most critical issues, such as personal safety, income, housing, medical benefits, education, and family stability.

Within fiscal year 2012 alone, LSNV worked with over 1107 residents to close 508 legal cases. Through presentations on legal topics, direct services in the courthouse, and distribution of informational materials, LSNV reached an additional 1509 Alexandria community members.

Support LSNV:

For those who cannot afford legal services, being able to access the free legal aid provided at LSNV can mean the difference between going hungry and obtaining food stamps, being evicted or staying in their home, or remaining in an abusive situation or getting away. By supporting LSNV, you can help provide more of the essential legal services needed by so many in our community. Click here for LSNV's donation page.
