Support Rebuilding Together Alexandria at First Thursday

rebuilding_together_alexandriaThis Thursday, we hope everyone will come out for the final First Thursday of the season - Home Sweet Home.  While there are lots of great things planned including a fun scavenger hunt with prizes & great music from the Kate Moran Band, we would like to ask for everyone's support in helping our featured non-profit.

With the theme Home Sweet Home, what better non-profit to recognize for all their hard work then Rebuilding Together Alexandria.  For almost 25 years, with 1,000's of volunteers they have helped our neighbors in need, including the elderly, those with disabilities, veterans & families so they can remain in their own homes safely.  With volunteers and donations, they provide emergency repairs, safety modifications & energy upgrades and worked on 102 homes last year alone!

They will have a tent and table set up in the Farmer's Market lot at Mt. Vernon & E. Oxford and will gladly accept donations or will be happy to answer any questions you might have about what they do.  Below is a list of just some of the things your donations can help accomplish.  We hope you will come and show them what a generous and loving community we are.  Thank you!!

What Your Donation Provides Rebuilding Together Alexandria

$10 = 2 smoke detectors
$25 = Handrail installed to prevent falls
$50 = Grab bar installed in a bathroom
$75 = 2 deadbolt locks installed for added safety
$100 = 3 gallons of paint, 3 rollers, a pan and brushes
