- To balance the state budget, Virginia's legislature is considering cuts to many programs and services. As a result of their decisions, funding for preschool education may suffer. Read Councilman Krupicka's latest blog entry on the issue and see why he thinks cutting funds would be an enormous mistake.
- Registration has begun for the Marine Corps Marathon on October 30th. There is enough room for 30,000 runners, but these spots go quickly. If interested in participating, sign up as soon as possible.
- Attention dancers and music lovers: The Louisiana Dance Party will be held at The Torpedo Factory on March 4th! All proceeds will go to Hungry for Music which "donates instruments to young musicians in need." So come out for a good cause and a good time. - Don't forget about the important town hall meetings on Wednesday and Thursday. At Wednesday's meeting, the question "What matters to the people living in Alexandria?" will be answered.
