The Neuro-Diversity Project

Studio 4, Old Town is giving children on the autism spectrum the opportunity to work one on one with an artist to create artwork that will be on display in Studio, 4 for the month of September. The idea for the Neuro-Diversity Project came from artist Gina Cochran, the project's creator and the mother of a child on the autism spectrum.

The opening reception for the show will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Stop by and admire the artwork, enjoy refreshments, and support children in the Alexandria community. Studio 4 is located in Crilley Warehouse.

These Neuro-Diversity Projects are absolutely wonderful. In fact just before the Studio 4 project, Gina Cochran had a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund a similar gallery project at the Workhouse Arts Center. They have really brought out a different way to look at the world.. and I hope there will be many such events in the future! Best regards, Anna Holm.
