Japan Earthquake Relief, Goal Focused Education and Environmental Award Nominees Wanted: This Week's Latest ACTion

  • Friday's devastating earthquake in Japan is proof that anything can happen to anyone at anytime.  Please donate what you can to help the victims of this tragedy.  The site, Charity Navigator, is a good source of information for donating and provides a list of charities that are already working to aid Japan's citizens.
  • The Alexandria Environmental Policy Commission (EPC) and the Alexandria Sanitation Authority are taking nominations for the Ellen Pickering Environmental Excellence Award.  Nominees can be Alexandria residents, clubs, groups, organizations " or corporate neighbor[s] who [have] demonstrated their commitment to protecting the natural environment and promoting environmental sustainability within Alexandria."  Deadline for entry is March 31st at 5 P.M.  Vist the Alexandria Earth Day website for more info.
