This Week's Action: Help Firefighters Provide 50 Coats for Kids
Help Firefighters Bring Warmth to Kids in Alexandria!
$30 dollars provides two new coats for local kids.
Thanks to your generosity and the RunningBrooke Fund, we were able to give 85 coats to 85 kids in need!
As temperatures drop and we reach for our coats, it’s a good time to remember that for hundreds of children in Alexandria, having a warm winter coat is not a given.
Thank goodness for real life heroes, the Fairfax County Firefighters! Together with Firefighters Coats for Kids and Operation Warm, Firefighters are working to provide warm, winter coats to elementary school-aged children in Alexandria and Fairfax County.
Firefighters work with local social workers, shelters and nonprofits to make sure the coats go to where they are needed most. Last year, Coats for Kids gave away 2,000 coats at more than 50 area schools. And this year, the need is even greater.
A donation of just $30 provides 2 new coats to protect local children from the coldest winter days. Our goal is to raise $750—enough for 50 new coats. Please help!
