Each fall as the weather grows colder, Firefighters and Friends to The Rescue in partnership with Operation Warm provide new winter coats for children in the Northern Virginia area who would otherwise go without a coat in the coldest months. The coat drive is organized by Alexandria native and Captain II of the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department, Will Bailey. This year, Will is expanding his coat distribution sites to Charles Houston Recreation Center in Alexandria. Last year, Firefighters and Friends gave out almost 3000 coats! ACTion would like to do our part by raising funding for 50 coats for 50 kids with a total of $1500. As a bonus, this year, all coats are made in America. Click on Take ACTion to be directed to the Firefighters and Friends to The Rescue webpage and donate today by going to the Paypal link at the bottom of the Firefighters and Friends to The Rescue webpage.

Thanks to a $500 matching grant from The RunningBrooke Fund, we are already 1/3 of the way to our goal!
