Take the Survey!

In 2012, the Alexandria City Council adopted a policy to grow the City’s public art into an inspired and engaging program that reflects the City’s unique history, people, cultural identity, and future aspirations.

To support this growth, the City of Alexandria Office of the Arts has commissioned the development of a Public Art Master Plan and we need your input.

The Public Art Master Plan will be a comprehensive, community-based plan that outlines a vision, goals and objectives for the public art program in Alexandria. The plan will set priorities for the location and funding of projects; provide a framework for the shared financial and professional resources needed; and define the procedures for decision-making and oversight needed for public art projects to be successful.

To gather information from the community we’ve put together a brief survey.  Your responses will help us to better understand your thoughts on public art, where public art would have a strong impact in Alexandria and how projects can create a sense of community, pride and engagement. The results will be shared with our consulting team and will help shape the recommendations in the Alexandria Public Art Master Plan, to be completed in 2014. The survey should take you only ten to fifteen minutes to complete.
